When I have been looking in my make-up bag recently I've noticed that a lot of the new additions have been L'Oreal products. I have always liked the brand for make-up but it's price range is just slightly higher than its high-street competitors, which don't always comply with student budgets, like my own. Recently, both Boots and Superdrug have had really good offers on L'Oreal, such as the two products for £12 which has cropped up in both stores. Since most of the products are pretty much at the ten pound mark, this offer is really good value if you are already buying something there.
L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara in Black | Superdrug £10.99
My friend recommended me this mascara a while back, and I have been meaning to buy it for ages as my Benefit Roller Lash sample is very much on it's last legs..! I love the packaging of this mascara as it's not garish or huge like some of the new mascaras that have recently launched seem to be, but simple and successful in not taking up too much unnecessary room in my make-up bag. As for the application, I am definitely a convert of the telescopic mascaras - the brush is very long and fine which is great if you want a delicate and lash-defining layers rather than a heavy, thick look. I have found that the less applications you do, the better the result, as I often get carried away putting layer over layer of mascara on my lashes to be left with a cloggy, spider-style eyes. I will definitely consider repurchasing this as it's considerably better than the other high street mascaras I have tried.
L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Extraordinaire in Nude Ballet | Boots £8.99
I had been looking for a neutral-toned lipstick when I came across this one as nude seems to be the only shade that I really wear on a day-to-day basis - perhaps because you can't really go wrong with it. I had read this was the shade that Kim Kardashian wore on her wedding day - surely a good sign considering all the options she had access to?! It is a lovely colour, really subtle and the gloss effect is particularly effective as my lips are quite dry so matte lipstick can be challenging to wear in the daytime as it doesn't last long. The packaging is quite bulky and square - quite different to a lot of the other lipsticks out there, but it has an expensive feel and has lasted me quite a long time.
L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Extraordinaire in Rouge Soprano | Boots £8.99
When I ordered the Nude Ballet shade of this lipstick, Boots had a Buy One Get One Half Price offer on selected L'Oreal make up, so I thought I would try a more daring shade that I could wear in the evening. The shade is really vibrant, which I think would look great with a tan (real or fake..!). Again, it's really moisturizing which is the best part of this lipstick range.
L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation in shade Vanilla | Boots £7.99
I have seen a lot of raving reviews of this foundation recently, comparing it to high-end foundations that a lot of people love. In comparison to the No 7 Matte Foundation that I usually use, the coverage is much lighter, which would perhaps be useful on holiday when you don't want such a heavy foundation. It applies easily - I use the Real Techniques Foundation Brush to apply - and a little bit of this goes a long way. The best thing about this foundation is it doesn't have the tendency to become cakey if you apply more than one application - it's lightweight quality allows you to build it up. Also, the formula doesn't dry out your skin, while still being mattifying (how?!)! I think I will stick to the No 7 Foundation as I personally prefer the coverage at the moment, but I will definitely use this more in the up-coming summer months.
I love the L'Oreal Colour Riche lip products but haven't tried either of those colors, I am definitely going to look for Nude Ballet, it looks gorgeous! XO -Kim
